We raise standard AKC Bulldogs (English Bulldogs) in our home in Fairview, Pennsylvania, just outside of Erie. We recently decided to start this website in order to easily provide information regarding our Bulldogs, puppies, & future litters.
Our Bulldogs are first & foremost members of our family, and we occasionally have puppies available. Our adult Bulldogs & puppies live in our home with us. We are very proud to have excellent examples of the Bulldog breed from some of the top bloodlines in the world.
We think of our past puppies as members of our extended family & enjoy staying in contact with new owners. We will be there for every step of your Bulldog adventure & are available for any needs you have for the life of your new best friend.
The majority of our puppies are sold with limited AKC registration. We want the main purpose of our puppies to be loved family members, as our own Bulldogs are. We do offer full registration for show prospects, as long as they will also be in a family setting. If a need were to arise, for any reason, our past puppies will always be welcomed back to our home at any point in their lives.
With Bulldogs being very well known for genetic issues, our first priority is health. There are many health issues in the Bulldog breed that they are well known for. We believe that all Bulldogs should be health tested prior to breeding to improve the breed. We conduct genetic screenings & OFA certifications to assure that the sire & dam are compatible & our puppies are not predisposed to common issues.
We strive to keep the standard of the Bulldog Club of America (BCA), the breed's parent club of the AKC. This standard was established with the health of the breed in mind. Many feel that this standard only pertains to showing, but these guidelines help assure a good quality of life & decrease the need for costly corrective surgery. Many Bulldogs are being bred for exaggerated features & unrecognized colors with profit in mind, often resulting in poor quality of life & high veterinary cost.
Bulldogs in general are known for their amazing temperments & personalities, however, there are many factors that influence a puppy's behavior & how they will develop as an adult. A great deal of research over the years has clearly demonstrated that many behavioral traits have a genetic basis in dogs. Bulldogs should be physically as well as behaviorally sound to reproduce. The Bulldog standard also includes temperament & is among the attributes being evaluated when a Bulldog is shown in conformation. We have been blessed to have Bulldogs of remarkable character & we are proud to pass their attributes on to future generations.
Another critical aspect of a dogs emotional development is early socialization, which studies have shown to play a significant role in the future behaviour of puppies. Positive early life experiences are critical in helping puppies grow up to be confident, content companions & we begin early socialization right from the beginning to give our puppies the best start possible.
We recently decided to have a Facebook page in addition to our group. We will be sharing content related to the Bulldog breed in general, where as our group is geared towards our Bulldogs, puppies, & updates. Give us a like!
